Biological Anthropology

Biography

My research interests include examining colonial influence in Forensic Anthropology, with special consideration of policy and practice within the medicolegal field. I am currently focused on exploring the intersection of Illinois state-funded agencies and NAGPRA through a data-driven policy initiative. I have had the opportunities to gain experience in cultural resource management, bioarchaeology, and forensics. This has allowed for first-hand views into how the fields overlap, and the ways they can complement each other to aid in repatriation. Considering the multi-disciplinary nature of this research, I have been fortunate to be under the advisement of professors from various areas of expertise, including Dr. Cris Hughes (advisor), Dr. Jenny Davis (co-advisor), and Dr. Ripan Malhi (co-advisor).
